Birchwood School of Hawken was founded in 1984 by a small group of parents and educators who were determined to give their own children, as well as members of the wider community, an unparalleled education that offered exceptional academic programming with an emphasis on achievement ethics, hard work, and character. Over the next three decades, the school has remained true to its mission: to provide an educational setting where challenging academics build solid work habits, an achievement culture nurtures healthy attitudes, and a caring environment forges social responsibility.
Today, our teachers work together in partnership with each other and the heads of school to offer students in preschool through grade 8 an extraordinary education.
