Planned Giving

So, you appreciate Birchwood School of Hawken. You understand what we do and you would like to support our students and our mission. You would like to make a meaningful gift, but other gift options do not make the impact you want. Consider a planned gift.

A planned gift gives you the opportunity to increase your support while making little impact on your day-to-day financial operations. These are particularly good options for grandparents or those planning for retirement. Consider that:

You don’t have to use cash to make your gift. Instead, you can donate appreciated securities, and use an asset whose cost is less than the tax deduction you’ll get for it.

You may be holding assets that would benefit Birchwood more than they do you such as a life insurance policy that you no longer need or a collection of books or artwork, even furniture that you no longer have room for in your home.

You can make a gift that costs you nothing during your lifetime. Simply make Birchwood School of Hawken a beneficiary of your will or revocable trust while leaving your cash flow and current financial planning uninterrupted.

For more information on these or any other gifts, please contact the Development Office at 216-251-2321.
By creating a plan for my gift to Birchwood, I am able to easily support the school that my grandchildren attend.
