Before & After Care

Before School Care

Childcare is provided from 7 to 8 am. Children meet in the school library and will be provided with supervised games and books.

After School Care

Childcare is provided from 3:15 to 6 pm. Children are divided by grade level. Families who need child care on just an occasional basis or in the event of an emergency are also welcome to participate in the program.
  • After School Care is available every day until 6 pm – except if circumstances prohibit providing care.
  • The primary supervisor is Nancy Isherwood.
  • If you are running late and will pick up your child past 6 pm, call Nancy at 440-670-3527 immediately (do not call the Main Office). You will be charged an additional $1 per minute for each child picked up after 6 pm.
  • Early childhood After School Care is provided for preschool students in our Seedlings and Sprouts classes.
  • In compliance with the Ohio Department of Education, our elementary and middle school After School Care is for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. 


Parents may use the SchoolPass app to sign up for Before and After School Care. There is a maximum number of students who can attend each day that is listed below:

· Before School Care: 15 students max per day
· After School Care K-8: 45 students max per day
· After School Care Preschool: 15 students max per day

Please note the alternate pick up Location on the First Wednesday of Each Month at the following locations:

· Grades K-8 will be dismissed from the Fogarty Hall glass doors located on the left side of Birchwood’s main entrance parking lot.
· Preschool students can be picked up at Birchwood’s main entrance.

2020-21 Rates

Before School Care:
7-8 am - $10
7:30-8 am - $5
7:45-8 am - $2.50

After School Care:
3:15-6 pm - $27.50
half hour - $5
Families are billed around the 14th of each month.
