International Festival and Auction (IFA)

Birchwood School of Hawken will hold its 25th Annual International Festival & Auction on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Hosted by the Birchwood School of Hawken Parents’ Association, this event is the school’s largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds benefiting our Signature Programs, teacher professional development and an annual fund-a-need project that in past years has supported visual and performing arts programs, our library, in-room air conditioning, performance risers, and much more. It is also an enjoyable afternoon featuring a potluck meal sharing international dishes, live and silent auctions and raffles, music, and children’s activities.

Approximately 200 participants join together in community every year to celebrate Birchwood’s cultural diversity and to raise funds that are vital for important projects and initiatives. Attendance is open to everyone. Please join us!

Why should I participate?
This unique event intersects with the school's mission and has the capacity to strengthen the school like no other. The stronger the school becomes, the greater its impact will be on the individual lives of everyone involved in the school. The more we give, the stronger we make Birchwood, the stronger Birchwood becomes, the more we all reap the benefits!
How can I help?
We need every parent to donate/solicit items! We can use donations of any value, small or large, homemade, purchased, solicited, or regifted (never used). Parent volunteers will assemble and create auction packages out of all the donations we collect. If you are creative though, go ahead and donate a pre-assembled package! Donations can be dropped off at the office with the appropriate form below.

Solicitation Letter & Reply Form
The solicitation letter and reply form would be given to the various organizations you are asking to donate. Three copies are included in your IFA folder. Keep them in your car to hand to any local businesses you frequent! Need more copies?
Internal Donation Drop off Form
The Internal Donation Drop Off form is to be used for any donations not obtained using the Solicitation letter above.
IFA would not be a success every year without all the helping hands of our wonderful volunteers. There are lots of jobs leading up to the big event!
Come enjoy an afternoon of food, music, children’s activities, auctions, and raffles! Advance Registration is now available, so purchase your tickets online today and save. A family of four can attend for just $40 but will cost more at the door.  Deadline for advance registration is November 28, 2018.
For the past twenty-three years, the IFA has been known for being the best international potluck in town! Will it be again this year too? To make this happen, we need your food donations to make this a multi-cultural eating extravaganza! We are asking every family to bring a food donation that feeds at least 12 people.
